The North-West Corner Rule handles situations where supply or demand is exhausted before the entire allocation is completed by stopping the allocation process in the current row or column and moving to the next one. If the supply is exhausted, it moves to the next row. If the demand is exhausted, it moves to the next column. It does not reallocate resources from other cells or redistribute the unallocated supply or demand. Instead, it simply moves on to the next row or column and continues the allocation process from there.
