The North-West Corner Rule handles situations where supply or demand is exhausted before the entire allocation is completed by stopping the allocation process and moving to the next row or column, depending on which one is exhausted. It does not reallocate resources from other cells or redistribute the unallocated supply or demand. Instead, it simply moves on to the next row or column and continues the allocation process from there.
