Use a one-way ANOVA to compare means of three or more groups based on one independent variable, while a two-way ANOVA examines two independent variables and their interaction.
You would use a one-way ANOVA when you're comparing the means of three or more groups based on one independent variable. In contrast, a two-way ANOVA is used when you want to examine the effect of two independent variables on a dependent variable and see if there’s any interaction between them.
