Factorial ANOVA is used to analyze the impact of two or more independent variables on a dependent variable, while one-way ANOVA only looks at one independent variable. Essentially, factorial ANOVA can show how multiple factors interact with each other, whereas one-way ANOVA focuses on the effect of a single factor.
A post-hoc test is a statistical analysis conducted after ANOVA to identify which specific group means are significantly different from each other. It is performed because ANOVA only indicates if there are differences among groups, but not where those differences lie.
