The assumptions are: independence of observations, normality of the groups, and homogeneity of variance (equal variances among groups).
ANOVA assumes that the samples come from populations with the same variance, which is called homogeneity of variance. It also assumes that the samples are independent and that the data is normally distributed within each group being compared.
