An alternate optimal solution is also called as an alternate optima, which is when a linear / integer programming problem has more than one optimal solution.
When there are many optimal solutions to a linear or integer programming problem, such extra possibilities are referred to as alternate optimal answers or alternate optima.
Alternative Optimal Solution gives you one or more than optimal solution.
According to my "own belief", the "Alternate Optimal Solution" derived from it's beginning word: "ALTERNATE" which is to have "ANOTHER" in other words it does literally means: "TO HAVE ANOTHER SOLUTION".
